The [7:39 p.m. post](https://x.com/wkupd/status/2022123434759926246) says to avoid the area near the Registry, and the [7:47 p.m. post](https://x.com/wkupd/status/2022125531630907796) says there is no active threat at Old Morgantown Road and University Boulevard. A third post at 8:11 p.m. says law enforcement is investigating and there is no threat at this time. Police detected no threat to campus and located no victim in connection with the report. In a separate incident days later in the same corridor, Diego Andres Lopez-Urdaneta was found inside a vehicle on the 300 block of University Boulevard with a gunshot wound to the head; he was hospitalized and [died, making that case a homicide investigation](https://www.wbko.com/2026/02/20/shooting-near-wku-campus-turns-into-homicide-case/).
