      "verbatimText": "Jan. 23, 2016\n\n1:02 a.m.\n\nColumbia Police continue to investigate the report of an individual firing a gun into the air at 9th and Elm streets. According to witnesses, the suspect got into a car and drove south toward campus. Witnesses were able to provide a license plate number to police. No description of the individual is available at this time. Police ask that civilians call MUPD (882-7201) if they see anything suspicious on campus and Columbia Police (442-6131) if anything is witnessed off campus related to this incident. If there is an emergency, please call 911 immediately.\n\n12:39 a.m.\n\nUniversity of Missouri Police received a report of a fight at Campus Bar and Grill at 9th and Elm streets. One individual shot a gun into the air, and then headed south toward campus. Columbia Police are currently investigating.\n\nWe will update this website as additional information is confirmed. Please check here for official information. Please do not distribute unconfirmed information or rumors or post or pass along rumors on social media outlets.
