The reporting party stated that an unknown male had entered her bedroom while she was asleep. The reporting party screamed at the male, who then fled the area. Based on the initial investigation, it appears that the unknown male removed the screen from the front window, gaining access to the apartment. A check of the surrounding area revealed that multiple window screens had been removed from the adjacent apartments; it is unknown at this time if these incidents are related.\n\nThe reporting party described the male as an unknown race male, approximately 5-foot-10-inches to 6-foot tall, with a skinny build. The male was seen wearing a grey hoodie with the letters UCSD written in blue.\n\nAt this time, the suspect is not in custody.\n\nThe report is currently under investigation by the UC San Diego Police Department.\n\nIf you have information that could be helpful in this investigation, please call the UC San Diego Police Department at (858) 534-4357 or submit an online tip at https://police.ucsd.edu/services/anonymous.html.\n\nThe remainder of this message provides general information about preventing and reporting a burglary and is not necessarily related to this incident.\n\nIf you are the victim of a burglary or you discover someone inside your residence:\n\nIf possible, immediately leave your residence and go to a safe area (e.g., a neighbor’s apartment or a public place).\n\nCall or text the UC San Diego Police Department at 9-1-1.\n\nIf you are unable to leave your residence, secure yourself and your family members in a safe location, turn on all available lights, and call the police immediately.\n\nTo help reduce the risk of being the victim of a burglary:\n\nMake sure doors and windows are closed and locked.
