The reporting party stated that a male with a handgun committed a robbery at the Nordstrom Rack before fleeing south from the store.\n\nThe suspect is described as male, about 40 years old, about 5'7\", thin build, short or \"peach fuzz\" mustache and beard, wearing a blue stripe beanie, camouflaged jacket and dark tan pants.\nAt this time the suspect is not in custody.\nThis investigation is being handled by the San Diego Police Department.\n\nIf you have information regarding this incident, please contact the San Diego Police Department at (619) 531-2000 or submit a tip through Crime Stoppers at https://www.sdcrimestoppers.org/.\n\nThe remainder of this message provides general information about preventing and reporting a robbery, and is not necessarily related to this incident.\n\nIf you are a victim of a robbery:\n\nYour personal safety is more important than money or merchandise.\nBelieve the robber if they say they have a gun, knife or other weapon.\n\nTry to maintain a calm demeanor. Concentrate on remembering a description of the suspect and when safe to do so, call or text the police immediately at 9-1-1.\nAssess the situation. Remember every situation is different; you are the only one who can decide the appropriate course of action.\n\nSeek medical attention as required.\nConsider contacting confidential campus support resources:\nUC San Diego students – visit Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS): https://caps.ucsd.edu and (858) 534-3755.\n\nUC San Diego faculty and staff – visit Faculty & Staff Assistance Program (FSAP): https://blink.ucsd.edu/sponsor/hr/org-chart/fsap.html and (858) 534-5523.\n\nUC San Diego Health Sciences benefits-eligible faculty and staff – visit Liveandworkwell operated by Optum/United Behavioral Health: https://liveandworkwell.com and (866) 808-6205 (use company code UCSDMC).\n\nTo help reduce the risk of being the victim of a robbery:\n\nReport suspicious activity immediately to the UC San Diego Police Department by calling or texting 9-1-1.\nThink ahead.
