      "verbatimText": "Crime Alert - Theft of Motor Vehicle\n\nCampus crime alerts and timely warnings to the community comply with the federal Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act).\n\nUPD Case Number 26-0914-0015\n\nOn September 14, 2026 the Texas A&M University Police Department (UPD) received a report of a stolen moped.\n\nOn September 14, 2026, at 5:30 PM, the victim parked their moped in parking area 15 in the motorcycle parking spaces. The victim noticed their moped missing when they returned at 6:10 PM. The moped is described as a red 2022 Genuine RoughHouse 50.\n\nAnyone having information pertaining to this crime or other incidents is encouraged to contact the Texas A&M University Police Department at 979-845-2345.\n\nWhile a university is required under the Clery Act to notify the public of such reports, it is also our responsibility to provide information regarding protective measures.\n\nAnti-Theft suggestions:\nUse a high quality lock in addition to the built in steering lock on motorcycles/mopeds.\nPark in well-lit, high density, conspicuous areas that are in view of security cameras.\nTake your keys, do not leave them in the vehicle or hide them on the vehicle. Thieves know to look in popular hiding places.\nArm your motorcycle/moped with a tracking device or audible alarm.\n\nThe safety of our community does not have borders. It is the goal of every law enforcement agency to protect the citizens that we serve. Be the eyes and ears of your police department. When you see suspicious activity contact the Texas A&M University Police Department at 979-845-2345, the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600, or the Bryan Police Department and the Brazos County Sheriff's Office at 979-361-3888.
