      "verbatimText": "TIGERALERT: Solicitation / harassment near campus\n\nMonday, April 20, 2026 1:53:53 PM\n\nThis notice is to advise you of an incident that concerns the University community.\n\nThe Department of Public Safety has received multiple reports about a male driver engaging in harassing behavior against passersby.  The incidents occurred on Thursday, April 16, and Friday, April 17, 2026, in the following locations:\n\nProspect Avenue near Roper Lane\nWashington Road at Guyot Lane\nIvy Lane \nThe individual, described as a male in his 30s or 40s driving a dark van or SUV, asked students for directions to Starbucks.  After receiving directions, the driver offered the students cash, before making inappropriate solicitations or requests for students to enter the vehicle.  DPS is actively investigating this incident, and the Princeton Police Department has also been notified.  Anyone with additional information is encouraged to call the Department of Public Safety at (609) 258-1000.\n\nWe remind all community members of the tips listed below and our general crime prevention tips listed on our website: https://publicsafety.princeton.edu/safety/safety-security.\n\nReport suspicious behavior or activity immediately by calling the Department of Public Safety at 9-1-1 or by using any blue light emergency phone located throughout campus.\nStay alert and tuned in to your surroundings. Following an investigation, DPS identified a suspect consistent with the reported description and behavior. An arrest warrant was issued charging the suspect with Harassment and Crimes Related to Luring an Adult. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody by a neighboring law enforcement agency. \n\n \n\nThere is no ongoing threat to the University community. DPS thanks those who came forward with information and remains available at (609) 258-1000 for any questions or to report a safety concern.",
