These incidents occurred at and around Schwartz Hall, located at 345 East 24th Street, in Manhattan.\n\nThe first complainant, an NYU student, reported that they locked their e-scooter at the bike rack at Schwartz Hall on Thursday, July 3rd, at 11:00 a.m.. When they returned at 4:30 p.m., they realized the e-scooter was stolen. The complainant filed a police report with the NYPD.\n\nOn July 8th, 2024, at 4:14 p.m., two suspects were observed taking an e-bike locked up to a NYC bike rack located on the sidewalk in front of 433 1st Avenue. The suspects then moved to the bike rack at 338 East 25th street, where they cut the lock and took an e-scooter belonging to an NYU student. A police report was filed with the NYPD. \n\nBelow are photos of the individuals who are believed to have carried out the thefts on July 8th. It is unknown if the suspects in the photo are linked to the e-scooter theft on July 3rd. \n\nIf you have any additional information about this incident, please contact the NYPD at 1(800) 577-TIPS and NYU Campus Safety at (212) 998-2222.\n\nPlease Remember These Safety Tips:\n\nIn addition to parking in a gated or designated parking area, consider using a heavy duty lock and/or chain to secure your bicycle or scooter. \nDo not leave your bicycle or scooter for extended periods of time, such as overnight.\nConsider registering your bicycles and other valuable property with Campus Safety's Violet Tag program, which provides community members with the opportunity to place an adhesive sticker on valuable property, so that if it is lost or stolen and recovered, it can be returned to them.
