      "verbatimText": "NAU Timely Warning / Crime Alert (CA# 2026-03)\n\nAssault (Possible Robbery) N2600738\n\nOn Wednesday 8/26/26 at 3pm, The NAU Police Department received a report of an assault and possible robbery that occurred near the wooded area on the northwest side of SBS West between 11am and 12pm. The victim stated that an unknown suspect pushed them up against a tree. The suspect is described as a white male having long brown hair that covered their eyes, wearing a black hoodie and college aged. Just before the victim reported the assault, they noticed their key was missing and thinks it could have been taken during the assault (robbery).\n\nSUSPECT DESCRIPTION:\n\n• White male suspect in their early 20’s\n• 5’11 to 6 ft tall\n• Shoulder length brown hair that covers their eyes\n• Wearing a black hoodie and grey sweatpants\n\nIf you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the NAU Police Department at (928) 523-3611.\n\nSAFETY TIPS\n• Be aware of your surroundings. Know where you are and where you are going.\n• Avoid isolated and unlit areas.\n• Avoid using headphones in both ears so you can be alert to your surroundings.\n• Walk with confidence!
