      "verbatimText": "NAU Timely Warning / Crime Alert (CA# 2025-05)\n\nBurglary, Second Degree Residential N2500979)\n\nThe NAU Police Department received a late report of a Burglary at the Hilltop Apartments. The victims stated that an unknown suspect entered their unlocked apartment sometime between the hours of 10:00 AM on 10/25/2025 to 9:00 AM on 10/26/2025 and removed an e-Scooter from the common area. While investigating this incident, the NAU Police became aware of a second e-Scooter stolen from the common area in the same apartment which occurred between the hours of 5:40 AM to 11:00 AM on 10/28/2025.\n\nThe unidentified suspect gained entry through an unlocked door. There were no signs of forced entry into the occupied room.\n\nIf you have any information regarding these incidents, please contact the NAU Police Department.\n\nSAFETY TIPS\n\n• Always lock your doors and windows even when at home or if you must leave to shower, use the restroom, go to class, etc.\n• Secure open or unlocked doors and windows in your dorm room, office, and common work areas. Use a wooden dowel on sliding glass doors to prevent full width opening and the screen door should remain locked when in use.\n• Lock up or hide valuables and essential documents.\n• Report all suspicious activity to the NAU Police Department immediately.",
