      "verbatimText": "CNU Urgent Alert: Currently, forecasts indicate snow and cold temperatures will be in the region beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, and continuing through Thursday.  Given the severity of the storm and its anticipated impact on travel, Christopher Newport University will modify operations for Wednesday and Thursday, as outlined below. -----  Classes: In-person classes will not be held while the campus is on modified operations. As is appropriate, faculty will provide alternative forms of instruction that best suit their teaching style, pedagogy, and course needs. Please see this technical guidance for assistance. Information Technology Services can also be reached at https://help.cnu.edu, helpdesk@cnu.edu, or (757) 594-7079 if technical support is needed. -----  Employees: Designated/Essential employees should report to work as directed by their supervisors. Employees eligible for telework should work from home. Employees may use personal leave if approved by their supervisor. -----  A notification regarding Friday’s operations will be sent Thursday afternoon.  In the days ahead, please use caution when walking and driving on campus. In the event of an emergency, please call campus police at 757-594-7777.",
